Design Engineer / MEP Draftsman specializing in electrical MEP drafting and design.
The role is based in the UAE and is full-time.
Prepares and updates electrical and MEP drawings to meet project requirements, specifications, and applicable standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical MEP drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, installation drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Develop lighting, small power, power distribution, cable routing, SLD, DB schedule, earthing, lightning protection, low-current/ELV, fire alarm, and emergency lighting layouts.
- Review and coordinate drawings across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, architectural, and structural disciplines.
- Incorporate client and consultant comments; prepare drawings from approved documents, specifications, and site requirements.
- Assist with material take-offs, BOQs, technical documentation, design submissions, and drawing-related issue resolution.
- Visit sites to verify existing conditions and prepare accurate as-built drawings.
- Check compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, and electrical standards; maintain drawing numbering and revision control.
Required qualifications and experience
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or MEP Engineering.
- 2–5 years of relevant electrical MEP drafting or design experience.
- Strong electrical MEP drafting and shop drawing experience; AutoCAD knowledge is mandatory.
- Understand electrical systems for commercial, residential, industrial, or building projects and be able to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical load schedules, SLDs, DB schedules, cable sizing, and electrical layouts.
- Ability to coordinate across disciplines and demonstrate communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred skills
- Revit MEP/BIM knowledge is an advantage.
- UAE authority requirements and MEP standards familiarity is preferred.
- UAE project experience, experience with consultants and contractors, and ability to work independently to deadlines are preferred.
- Candidates available in the UAE with a valid visa and immediate joiners are preferred.
Compensation
- Pay is listed as AED 2,819.60–11,789.17 per month.
- Salary is to be discussed based on experience and qualifications.
