Role overview

Design and project duties

• Design above-ground welded storage tanks to API 650, UL 142, and related standards; develop pressure and non-pressure silos, cutting bottles, surge tanks, and structural components.
• Prepare piping layouts, structural support drawings, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare and verify BOMs and MTOs; provide technical specifications, GA drawings, and material details for estimation and costing.
• Review third-party design calculations for compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Attend client and consultant technical meetings, clarify requirements, and revise drawings based on client comments and project specifications.
• Coordinate with production, QA/QC, procurement, and site teams; ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; minimum five years of relevant storage tank design experience.
• Strong knowledge of API 650 tank design and experience with piping layouts and structural components.
• AutoCAD proficiency, with 2D drafting mandatory.
• Experience preparing BOMs and supporting estimation; ability to review and validate third-party calculations.
• Good communication skills and ability to attend client meetings independently.
• Oil and gas or petrochemical project experience is preferred.

Pay

• AED 6,500–7,000 per month.
