Design Director – Luxury Residential (Dubai)
An internationally recognised design studio is seeking a Design Director to lead its luxury residential portfolio from its Dubai office.
This is a senior leadership role suited to a highly creative and commercially aware designer with a proven track record delivering exceptional high-end residential projects globally.
The successful candidate will bring over 10 years of experience in luxury residential design, with strong concept leadership, client-facing expertise, and the ability to guide teams in delivering world-class interiors from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creative direction of ultra-high-end residential projects, ensuring design excellence and consistency across all stages
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, from concept development through to construction and installation
- Act as the primary client liaison on key projects, building strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, developers, and stakeholders
- Define and present compelling design concepts, narratives, and material strategies aligned with client vision and brand positioning
- Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to design teams, fostering creativity, collaboration, and high performance
- Review and approve design deliverables including layouts, FF&E selections, technical packages, and styling
- Collaborate closely with technical teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure design integrity is maintained throughout execution
- Drive project profitability by managing budgets, timelines, and resource allocation effectively
- Contribute to business development activities, including client pitches, presentations, and studio growth initiatives
- Stay at the forefront of global luxury design trends, materials, and innovations
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in high-end luxury residential interior design (essential)
- Proven experience leading large-scale, bespoke residential projects internationally
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design sensibility, detailing, and project delivery
- Previous experience in a senior or leadership role within a top-tier design studio
- Excellent client-facing, presentation, and communication skills
- Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets and teams
- Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or Revit
- Experience working in the Middle East region is advantageous
- Degree in Interior Design or Architecture or a related field
