Deployment Engineer - Intern (NYC)
Role Overview
ScorePlay is moving from lighter deployments to highly structured rollouts that meet the technical demands of the largest sports and broadcast organizations in the world. Our Deployment team sits between the product and the client, and makes complex implementations feel simple.
We’re opening an internship in New York to reinforce that team. You’ll work on real client environments from week one, alongside the engineers running our biggest North American rollouts. It’s a hands-on role for someone technical enough to read code, understand an API and debug a workflow, but there is no need to be a full fledged software engineer. This role is for people who like to work directly with clients as much as they love solving complex technical issues.
We’re hiring this internship with the intention of converting the right person into a full-time Deployment Engineer in New York.
🧠 What you’ll work on
Fixing things for clients
Investigate and resolve technical issues raised by clients during and after onboarding: failed imports, metadata mismatches, integration errors, permission and access problems.
Dig into logs, API responses and existing scripts to find the actual root cause rather than patching the symptom.
Be a reliable point of contact for client technical teams, and escalate to Engineering with a clear diagnosis when something needs a product fix.
Taking part in complex rollouts
Join large deployments alongside senior engineers: archive migrations, platform setups, bulk operations, backfills.
Own the repeatable parts of a rollout yourself: environment prep, configuration, data checks, validation before go-live.
Follow our deployment playbook, and improve it with what you learn in the field.
Building so the team scales
This part grows as you do. Once you know our deployments well enough to see what keeps coming back, you’ll have room to build.
Turn recurring issues into something that stops them recurring: scripts, internal tools, AI agents.
Automate parts of our delivery work that are still manual today, and package what works so the rest of the team can reuse it.
Help the Deployment team get better at using AI day to day.
🧩 What we’re looking for
Final year of an engineering program OR a master’s degree in Business with at least one experience working on technical topics
Solid understanding of APIs, able to read and understand code (Python, JavaScript, Bash or similar) and modify an existing script. You don’t need to be a software engineer.
A genuine power user of AI tools. You use them every day, you know what they’re good at and where they fall apart.
Comfortable with ambiguity. A lot of what you’ll touch has no existing solution yet.
At ease talking to clients, including technical teams at large organizations.
Fluent English, written and spoken. French is a plus.
🏆 Why ScorePlay
A few signs you might love it here:
You want to be hands-on with real systems: media, archives, integrations, large scale migrations.
You’d rather own a result than close a ticket.
You like turning messy, loosely defined problems into something repeatable that others can run.
You want to build the tooling a team runs on, at the point where it’s still being invented.
You’re motivated by seeing world-class sports organizations actually use what you helped deploy.
📍 Practical details
Based in our New York office (we provide the VISA)
6 month internship, starting Q1 or Q2 2027
Compensation: $3,500/month
We know many people hesitate to apply if they don’t meet every single requirement on a job description. If you’re interested in ScorePlay but not sure you tick all the boxes, we’d still love to hear from you, this could be the start of a great long-term collaboration.
