Role overview

Candidate requirements
- Previous CSSD Technician experience; dental clinic, dental department, or hospital dental experience is preferred.
- Good knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and sterilization procedures.
- Experience cleaning, decontaminating, packaging, sterilizing, storing, and distributing dental instruments.
- Knowledge of autoclave operation and sterilization monitoring.
- Understand infection prevention and control standards.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and integrity before sterilization.
- Maintain accurate sterilization records, logs, and traceability documentation.
- Follow hospital policies, CSSD protocols, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, organization, time management, communication, and teamwork; work effectively in a fast-paced dental environment.
- Relevant CSSD/sterilization qualification or certification is preferred; previous UAE healthcare experience is advantageous.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and safely handle used dental instruments from treatment areas.
- Clean and decontaminate instruments using approved infection-control protocols.
- Inspect, assemble, package, and prepare instruments for sterilization.
- Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment safely and correctly.
- Monitor sterilization cycles and maintain required documentation and records.
- Store sterile instruments appropriately and ensure proper rotation and traceability.
- Prepare and distribute instrument sets for different dental specialties.
- Monitor instrument condition and report damaged, missing, or defective instruments.
- Maintain a clean and organized dental sterilization/CSSD area.
- Follow infection-control, occupational safety, and hospital quality standards.
- Support efficient instrument availability and workflow in the Dental Department.
