Demand Planning & Inventory Analyst

Position Overview

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain customer-, product-, and channel-level demand forecasts.
• Analyze sales history, customer demand, trends, seasonality, promotions, and new product activity.
• Monitor inventory and identify shortages, overages, excess, slow-moving, and aged inventory.
• Support strategies to reduce obsolete inventory, write-offs, and excess inventory.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing on promotions, closeout programs, and alternative sales channels.
• Collaborate with Operations and Production on availability, schedules, and capacity constraints.
• Develop reports and dashboards covering forecasts, inventory, turns, product velocity, and excess inventory.
• Translate analysis into clear management recommendations.
• Support SAP implementation through data validation, process development, testing, reporting, and inventory planning.
• Align demand, production, purchasing, and inventory objectives across departments.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Analytics, Operations, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
• Requires 2–5 years of experience in demand planning, inventory analysis, supply chain, forecasting, business analytics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities are required.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, formulas, data analysis, and reporting, are required.
• Experience with SAP, ERP, inventory management systems, manufacturing, demand planning software, Power BI, or ERP implementation is preferred.

Compensation

• Salary is listed as $70,000–$85,000 annually.
