The Delivery Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end delivery operations, ensuring efficient, timely, and cost-effective service across all delivery channels.
The role focuses on managing fleets, drivers, performance metrics, and operational processes while ensuring compliance with UAE regulations and customer satisfaction.
1. Operations Management
- Manage daily delivery operations (last-mile delivery, logistics, and dispatch).
- Ensure smooth execution of all delivery activities across Abu Dhabi and assigned regions.
- Plan, monitor, and optimize delivery routes and schedules.
2. Fleet & Driver Management
- Oversee drivers, riders, and fleet performance (vehicles, bikes).
- Ensure driver availability, productivity, and compliance with company policies.
- Manage peak demand, staffing shortages, and shift planning.
3. Performance & KPIs
- Define and track KPIs such as:
- On-time delivery
- Order fulfillment rate
- SLA compliance
- Analyze performance reports and implement improvement strategies.
4. Client & Platform Management
- Manage relationships with key platforms
- Handle escalations, audits, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
5. Vendor & Partner Management
- Supervise third-party logistics providers and outsourced fleets.
- Ensure vendor performance meets contractual KPIs.
- Optimize costs and operational efficiency.
6. Financial & Cost Control
- Monitor operational budgets and delivery costs.
- Improve profitability through route optimization and workforce efficiency.
- Support finance in invoicing and cost analysis.
7. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with UAE laws, safety standards, and company policies.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation plans.
8. Process Improvement & Systems
- Improve operational workflows and automate processes.
- Ensure proper use of ERP systems and delivery platforms.
- Use data analytics to enhance decision-making.
9. Leadership & Reporting
- Lead and develop operations teams.
- Provide reports and insights to senior management.
- Drive a culture of accountability and performance excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in delivery, logistics, or operations management.
- Strong experience in last-mile delivery operations (preferred in UAE/GCC).
- Knowledge of delivery platforms and fleet operations.
