DataOps - Lead Data Analyst

Role overview

Business engagement and analysis

• Partner with stakeholders to understand objectives, processes, decision needs, and desired outcomes.
• Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and interviews to define functional requirements, business rules, acceptance criteria, and value measures.
• Document business context and expected outcomes before solution development begins.
• Profile and analyze data quality, completeness, metadata, usability, and fitness for purpose.
• Define data semantics, transformation logic, source-to-target mappings, relationships, and readiness criteria.

Data solutions and validation

• Partner with Data Operations and Data Engineering on reusable solutions aligned with business intent.
• Develop analytical datasets, reusable data assets, and Gold layer data solutions where appropriate.
• Develop tests and validate engineered datasets, data products, and integrated solutions.
• Coordinate customer feedback, user acceptance testing, adoption, and transition into business workflows.

Process improvement and enablement

• Identify opportunities for process simplification, workflow automation, AI, and integrated solutions.
• Develop analytical solutions, prototypes, insights, and proof-of-concept work; plan for enterprise-scale operationalization as needed.
• Prepare documentation, training, and knowledge-transfer materials for customer adoption.
• Use AI, metadata, workflows, and reusable patterns to improve analysis, profiling, documentation, testing, and traceability.
• Create reusable templates, testing approaches, and documentation standards to improve consistency and delivery speed.

Required experience and capabilities

• At least five years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, data products, analytics consulting, or enterprise solution delivery.
• Demonstrated experience translating business needs and operational processes into functional requirements, business rules, acceptance criteria, and data specifications.
