Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or graduate of a technical school.
- At least 10 years of IT support technical experience with proven experience as a databases engineer for at least 3 years.
- Minimum of 3 years of Microsoft SQL Server database administration experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Oracle Databases in Linux environment.
- Knowledgeable in relational databases and backup and recovery.
- Knowledgeable with procedures such as shell scripting and scripting.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure and maintain databases, ensuring high availability, scalability and performance. Databases includes Microsoft
- SQL 2016, 2017, 2019 and later, Oracle 19C and PostgreSQL hosted in Linux and Windows environment.
- Provides recommendations and implement solutions for performance monitoring and tuning.
- Perform database administration and maintenance, including database installation and configuration, backups, upgrades, patching.
- Provides inputs and ideas for a long- and short-term requirements for database administration and design.
- Perform environment setup and configuration, proactive monitoring and maintenance.
- Create, develop and prepare technical documentation for all Databases.
- Technical documentation should have processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides and training module
- Assist and support the Application Team in databases requirements for existing databases, new databases requirements and upgrade and
- ordering of require licenses and servers for the databases. Maintain and monitor databases licenses, maintenance support and subscription contracts and track end of life and end of support bulletin.
