Experience
- At least 4 years of experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing data engineering and business intelligence solutions.
- At least 1 year using or exposed to Power BI, Tableau, Analysis Services, or comparable cloud data warehousing, transformation, and visualization tools.
- At least 2 years of experience with more than one database system, such as Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
Mandatory technical skills
- ETL/ELT and SQL coding with Azure SQL, Synapse, Redshift, Snowflake, or similar cloud database solutions.
- Design and develop star-schema data models and ETL/ELT jobs for common business-domain use cases.
- Apply data-modeling best practices, table-driven transformation controls, and scalable dynamic ETL/ELT jobs.
- Establish and maintain enterprise and executive reporting dashboards, backend transformation layers, and data pipelines.
- Exposure to programming languages such as Python or Java.
Collaboration and communication
- Work closely with customer and business stakeholders, technical architects, business analysts, and project managers on business use cases.
- Coordinate with business users, report readers and developers, and data engineers on BI and analytics solution design, development, and rollout.
- Participate in high- and low-level design with business heads, data engineers, and data and enterprise architects.
- Handle client requirements and communicate directly with clients.
- Strong communication, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred skills
- EAI or distributed-systems architecture experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of role- and row-based security across data architecture layers and user-friendly self-service analytics.
- Advanced SQL, including stored procedures, and ETL/ELT tools such as ADF, Matillion, Informatica, or SSIS.
- API-led connectivity, microservices, or event-based integration experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with ambiguous customer problems and provide technical leadership.
- Solutioning and technical architecture for cloud and on-premises databases, applications, and systems integration.
