Data Scientist
We are seeking a
Credit Risk Data Scientist
to join a leading financial institution, driving advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives across the credit risk lifecycle.
This role will focus on developing predictive models, enhancing risk decisioning, and improving portfolio performance through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and deploy
- credit risk models
(PD, LGD, EAD, scorecards)
- Build and optimize
- machine learning models
- for underwriting, collections, and fraud detection
- Analyze large datasets to identify
- risk trends, portfolio performance, and early warning signals
- Collaborate with Risk, Credit, and Business teams to
- improve decision strategies
- Ensure models comply with
- regulatory frameworks
(e.g., Basel II/III, IFRS 9)
- Conduct
- model monitoring, backtesting, and recalibration
- Translate complex data insights into
- clear business recommendations
- Support automation of credit decisioning using data pipelines and APIs
Required Experience
- 4–8+ years in
- credit risk analytics / data science
- within banking or fintech
- Strong experience with
- credit models
(scorecards, PD/LGD/EAD)
- Hands-on experience with
Python / R / SQL
- Solid understanding of
- statistical modelling & machine learning techniques
- Experience working with
- large datasets and cloud platforms
(AWS, Azure, GCP preferred)
- Knowledge of
- regulatory frameworks
(IFRS 9, Basel)
