Role overview

Permanent, full-time Data Product Owner role at Bupa.

Shape and deliver data products that support insight-led decisions across commercial, clinical, and operational teams.

Work with Data Business Partners, stakeholders, analysts, and engineers.

Salary is £45,000–£52,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own vision, roadmap, and backlog for data products across commercial and clinical and operational domains.
  • Translate business priorities into data solutions with Data Business Partners and stakeholders.
  • Lead delivery of dashboards, reports, and data models alongside analysts and data engineers.
  • Ensure products are governed, documented, and aligned with data quality and compliance standards.
  • Monitor product performance, adoption, and impact; drive improvement through feedback and analytics.
  • Apply user-centred design principles to create intuitive products.
  • Manage, develop, coach, and direct a small team of analysts.
  • Align business and technical teams on priorities, objectives, and timelines.
  • Support adoption through training, communication, and change management.

Essential qualifications and skills

  • Strong understanding of data modelling, data governance, and data lifecycle management.
  • Experience defining product roadmaps, backlogs, and user stories.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional business, analyst, and engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in Agile delivery environments and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or coaching team members.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Desirable qualifications

  • Product Ownership or Product Management experience in Data, Analytics, or Business Intelligence is desirable.
  • Healthcare, clinical, or operational setting experience is desirable.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake is desirable.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner, BCS Data Management, or equivalent certification is desirable.

Compensation

  • Salary: £45,000–£52,000 depending on experience; annual cadence is stated in the job posting.
