Role overview
A government entity in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Data Management Office Director.
The director leads the organization’s data management and governance agenda, frameworks, policies, and operating models.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Data Strategy and office roadmap aligned with organizational objectives and national regulations.
- Establish governance frameworks, policies, standards, procedures, and data ownership and stewardship models.
- Oversee data quality, classification, protection, metadata, lifecycle management, data sharing, open data, master data, and reference data.
- Support executive decision-making and organizational performance through effective data use.
- Ensure national compliance; monitor KPIs, maturity, compliance, and quality metrics.
- Build and lead the office team, improve data practices, and promote a data-driven culture.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong professional experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or related disciplines, including leadership or managerial experience.
- Knowledge of data management frameworks, standards, and best practices, and Saudi national data requirements.
- Experience leading strategic data initiatives and engaging senior stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, stakeholder management, change management, and executive communication capabilities.
