Role overview

EXL Analytics provides data-driven consulting and analytics services across industries including financial services, insurance, healthcare, retail, and transportation.

The Data Governance Consultant role provides governance oversight for strategic initiatives and helps embed enterprise data standards.

London, UK role with hybrid working and four days a week in the office.

Employment type is permanent.

Duties

  • Conduct governance reviews, assessments, and sign-offs against Data Minimum Standards throughout initiative lifecycles.
  • Represent Data Governance at ARB, Salesforce Review Board, Change Approval Board, and other relevant forums.
  • Review data ownership, data quality, metadata, and governance requirements before project progression and production approval.
  • Ensure Data Readiness Checklists and Metadata Capture Templates are completed before governance approval.
  • Guide project teams and promote consistent data governance across delivery, architecture, technology, and business teams.
  • Build stakeholder awareness and collaboration to embed governance from design through implementation.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in data governance, data management, or data risk and compliance is required.
  • Hands-on experience with governance reviews, assessments, and sign-offs against data standards is required.
  • Working knowledge of data ownership, data quality, metadata management, and governance frameworks is required.
  • Experience participating in enterprise governance forums, such as architecture, change approval, or platform review boards, is required.
  • Financial services or insurance experience is described as ideal.

Relevant governance standards and artifacts

  • Data Minimum Standards (DMS).
  • Data Readiness Checklist (DRC) and Metadata Capture Template (MCT).
  • Enterprise forums include the Architectural Review Board (ARB), Salesforce Review Board (SRB), and Change Approval Board (CAB).
