Data Engineer

Role overview

Key duties

• Create data pipelines and data models using star or snowflake architecture.
• Coach peers, document responsibilities, and automate common tasks.
• Coordinate with vendors and Data Services personnel to resolve issues.
• Serve as a support escalation point, troubleshoot problems, and resolve them quickly.
• Manage daily requests from business operations.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience building ELT or ETL pipelines, using SQL, and performing dimensional modeling.
• Public cloud experience, such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience troubleshooting and configuring data pipelines; at least 3 years in an enterprise IT environment.
• Strong customer-facing written and oral communication, technical writing, attention to detail, and flexibility.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have a valid driver's license.

Additional preferred experience

• Cloud data warehouses; Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations or Dynamics AX.
• Kimball or Inmon data warehouse architecture, Power BI, Azure DevOps, or Databricks.

Hours and travel

• Full-time salaried position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
• Travel is minimal to none; the description notes some travel may be required for multiple office locations.
