Data Engineer
About This Role
Data Engineer is responsible for supporting the Internal Audit function by extracting, cleansing, transforming, and analysing data from multiple ERP systems and operational applications to enable data-driven audits. Leveraging advanced analytics, the role strengthens the Internal Audit function’s ability to detect anomalies, identify control gaps, quantify risk impact, and deliver deeper audit assurance.
- 5 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or audit analytics roles.
- Strong skills in Power BI, Tableau, or Advanced Excel.
- Strong command of SQL, ETL processes, data modelling, and database structures.
- Ability to explain data outputs clearly to auditors and business users.
- Hands-on experience extracting and analysing data from ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Yardi, etc.). · Proficiency in utilizing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence tools (such as ACL, Arbutus, SQL, Python, R, etc.) and the ability to fully leverage their capabilities.
- Experience supporting audit, risk, compliance, finance, or control functions is preferred.
- Experience with population-based testing and exception analysis is a strong advantage.
- Trained with Big Four Audit/Consulting Firms (will be given preference)
