Role overview

Data analysis and modeling

• Gather complex business requirements and translate them into actionable data and technical specifications for engineering teams.
• Use conceptual and logical data modeling to design data structures for current and future business objectives.
• Integrate data across business lines and disparate systems and contribute to a unified enterprise data model.

Governance, metadata, and quality

• Create, standardize, and manage the Enterprise Data Glossary and core metadata, including consistent definitions and lineage.
• Identify gaps in data workflows or stewardship and recommend scalable improvements.
• Support data quality and structure initiatives for advanced analytics and AI readiness.
• Promote data governance and data quality initiatives, define rules, and guide business users in applying them.

Stakeholder collaboration

• Act as a liaison across business departments, facilitating communication and aligning data solutions with enterprise strategy.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data stewards, product managers, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Experience and qualifications

• Two to five years of experience as a Data Governance Analyst, Metadata Manager, Data Custodian, or in a similar enterprise data role.
• Ability to translate business concepts into detailed data requirements, technical specifications, and conceptual and logical models.
• Strong SQL skills for querying and analysis; experience documenting mappings between source and target systems using SQL and NoSQL data structures.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, stewardship, cloud data platforms, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to work across matrixed organizations, regions, business lines, and leadership levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related analytical field.
• CBAP or a similar certification is an asset.
