Data Architect
About This Role
- Define and own the enterprise data architecture roadmap spanning on-premises and multi-cloud environments
- Design end-to-end data platform architectures including data lakes, warehouses, and real-time streaming layers
- Establish data modeling standards, naming conventions, and architectural patterns for the organization
- Evaluate and recommend data technologies, tools, and platforms aligned with business and technical requirements
- Lead architecture reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor data engineering teams on best practices
- Collaborate with C-level stakeholders to align data strategy with business objectives and regional compliance requirements
- 8-12 years of experience in data engineering or data architecture with progressive leadership responsibility
- Proven track record of designing enterprise-scale data platforms on at least two cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Expert knowledge of data modeling methodologies (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault 2.0) and schema design patterns
- Deep experience with modern data stack components including data warehouses, orchestration, transformation, and governance tools
- Strong understanding of data security, encryption, access control, and regulatory compliance (UAE PDPL, GDPR)
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to present technical architecture to non-technical stakeholders
- TOGAF, DAMA CDMP, or AWS/Azure data architecture certifications
- Experience with data mesh or data fabric architectural paradigms
- Familiarity with Middle East data residency and sovereignty requirements
