Overview

About the Role

Core Architecture and Scalability

• Own the end-to-end data architecture for transactional and analytical workloads.
• Optimize PostgreSQL for high-concurrency claims processing and reporting.
• Design and maintain vector database architectures (e.g., Milvus, Qdrant) to support semantic search, RAG implementations, and AI-driven automation.

Data Integration and Orchestration

• Architect modern data pipelines using Python and orchestration tools such as Prefect or Apache Airflow.
• Design event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Ensure reliable and observable data workflows for real-time claim updates and payer integrations.

Regulatory Compliance and Data Sovereignty

• Implement data architectures that comply with:

• Saudi Arabia PDPL

• NAPHIES technical requirements

• UAE Health Data Law

• Malaffi and Nabidh standards
• Enforce encryption, audit logging, row-level security, and data residency controls.

Data Governance and Quality

• Promote a “Data as a Product” approach.
• Establish automated validation, schema governance, and quality monitoring processes.
• Ensure data integrity across the full revenue cycle management workflow.

Healthcare Interoperability

• Lead data mapping and transformation strategies for HL7 and FHIR R4.
• Enable seamless integration with government health exchanges, hospital information systems, and insurance platforms.
• Collaboration and Leadership
• Partner with DevOps to implement Infrastructure as Code for data resources.
• Support AI/ML teams in building feature stores and training pipelines.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical roadmaps.

Qualifications

• and ExperienceRequired
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Architecture.
• At least 3 years of experience in Healthcare IT, Health Insurance, or Revenue Cycle Management.
• Advanced expertise in PostgreSQL, including indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with vector databases such as Milvus or Qdrant.
• Solid understanding of:
• HL7 and FHIR standards
• ICD-10-AM and ACHI coding systems
• Claims, remittance, and pre-authorization workflows
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of regional data privacy and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

• Experience with graph databases.
• Experience integrating open-source large language models.
• Familiarity with OpenRouter and self-hosted AI models.
