Job Overview

The Dance Instructor is a part-time position located at the Boulder Point, 0 Boulder Hill Pass, Montgomery, IL.

This position reports to the Recreation Supervisor – Dance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Instruct various style dance classes such as pre ballet, hip hop, and jazz for various levels and age according to program curriculum and prepare lesson plans
  • Ability to create choreography, select appropriate music, and assist at dance recitals
  • Ability to evaluate dance participants and make recommendations for improvement
  • Train, supervise, and motivate participants by being creative, positive, and enthusiastic
  • Communicate with dance participants and parents
  • Meet deadlines on costume forms, dancer evaluations, availability forms and other administrative requests
  • Assisting in marketing and promoting the dance program
  • Ability to teach various levels from beginner to advanced

Skills And Qualifications

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Preferred degree in Dance Education and/or experience of at least two years as a dance instructor
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member of the dance staff
