Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Customs Specialist role based in Dubai.
The Customs Specialist will manage day-to-day customs clearance activities for import and export shipments, including documentation preparation, verification, and submission to relevant authorities.
The role involves coordinating with internal teams, customs officials, freight forwarders, and government agencies to ensure compliance with customs regulations and smooth cargo movement.
The specialist will classify goods, calculate applicable duties and taxes, and monitor changes in customs laws and trade policies.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, resolving clearance issues or delays, advising stakeholders on customs requirements, and supporting process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of customs operations, including Customs Brokerage and practical experience with Import Export processes.
- Hands-on experience managing Export documentation, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience managing Import documentation, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Effective Communication skills for coordinating with customs authorities, logistics partners, and internal teams.
- Familiarity with UAE customs regulations, HS classification, duty structures, and trade compliance practices.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in MS Office or logistics systems.
- Prior experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or international trade is preferred.
- Relevant diploma or degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is an advantage.
