  • High school diploma, GED or its equivalent preferred.
  • At least one (1) year of paid experience in general building cleaning, maintenance work or a suitable equivalent combination and have some mechanical abilities.
  • In addition, one of the following is preferred (may be required to obtain if hired):
  • Current low-pressure boilers permit to operate issued by American Society of Power Engineers or National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, Inc.
  • Certified Pool Operators license.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • The position may also require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work well with others and develop and maintain a team effort.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems, establish, and follow long and short-term goals.
  • Considerable working knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in general building cleaning and minor maintenance work.
  • Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safe work practices.
  • Knowledge of the operation of swimming pools.
  • Maintenance of heating and ventilating equipment.
  • Ability to perform a variety of building cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relationships.
  • Ability to perform manual work requiring average physical strength.
  • Ability to plan, assign, coordinate, and evaluate the work of others.
  • Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position. And work nights/weekends as required by scheduled district events.
