Other Responsibilities
- Participate in professional development activities as required by the district.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; support district/department goals.
- Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred. Ability to effectively communicate with all district employees; ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance and safety procedures; knowledge of minor repair techniques and building maintenance; ability to safely operate cleaning/maintenance equipment and lift heavy equipment. Valid Texas or New Mexico driver's license to be insurable by the district's auto liability insurance carrier; subject to the district drug and alcohol testing policy and regulations. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently, 20-50 pounds occasionally, more than 50 pounds infrequently and with assistance; ability to climb ladders unassisted up to 8 feet unassisted and higher with assistance; work under all weather conditions; extended periods of walking, standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting; ability to work with potentially hazardous materials in a safe manner and safely perform required duties in potentially hazardous environments. Must be adaptable to work a shift schedule and/or hours other than regularly assigned; must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies.
