About This Role
- Receive, clean, disinfect, pack, sterilize, and store medical and surgical instruments according to infection control standards.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and washer disinfectors.
- Ensure proper segregation and handling of contaminated instruments and materials.
- Maintain accurate sterilization records, logs, and documentation.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage before sterilization and distribution.
- Prepare and distribute sterile packs and procedure trays to clinical departments.
- Follow DOH/HAAD, infection control, and healthcare facility policies and procedures.
- Monitor expiry dates and proper storage conditions of sterile items.
- Report equipment malfunction, damaged instruments, or infection control concerns to the concerned department.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and occupational health standards within the CSSD department.
- Coordinate with nursing and clinical teams regarding instrument availability and sterilization requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and infection prevention programs.
