Credit Risk Analyst

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Make real-time decisions about situations requiring deeper investigation and identify emerging fraud trends.
• Review and investigate merchant accounts to assess fraud and credit risk exposure.
• Coordinate risk mitigation and fraud remediation with Funding, Legal, Operations, Client Services, and other business areas.
• Present high-risk activity and recommended or required actions to internal and external partners.
• Negotiate collateral requirements and restructuring terms as required.
• Resolve merchant inquiries through scheduled calls and complete special projects as assigned.
• Read and interpret documents; calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
• Use independent judgment, work alone or with a team, and work efficiently in stressful situations.

Required qualifications

• Two-year degree with prior work experience.
• Two years of customer service experience or one year of fraud and risk experience.
• Ability to use Excel and Word; ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Detailed and organized; may be required to work some weekends and holidays to meet deadlines.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, Pre-Law, or a related area.
• One year of prior credit risk experience.
• Experience with Mastercard and Visa association rules and regulations.
• Customer service experience handling adverse situations; strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
