Role overview
Reviews the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses to assess risk when lending money or extending credit.
Responsibilities
- Analyze credit data and financial statements to identify lending and credit risk.
- Verify individuals’ employment and income, review credit reports, and assess FICO scores.
- Compare businesses on liquidity, profitability, and credit history.
- Use software to assess customer finances and produce financial ratios.
- Compile information, complete loan applications, and prepare risk reports with approval or denial recommendations.
- Set interest rates and repayment term limits based on earnings, savings, payment history, and purchase activity.
- Assess loan profitability using business financial data, management quality, income growth, and market share.
- Resolve customer complaints and verify transactions through consultation.
- Identify delinquent accounts by reviewing customer files.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software and analysis software.
- Basic understanding of credit analysis equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or Mathematics required.
Physical requirements
Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required infrequently.
Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time.
Frequently operates a computer and office productivity machinery, including a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
