- London South Bank University UAE is seeking an experienced and ambitious academic leader to join our Department of Computing as a Course Leader.
- This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of Computing education within a growing British university in the UAE.
- You will lead programme delivery, support academic staff, drive student success, and contribute to the continued development of programmes in:
- Computer Science
- Cybersecurity
- Artificial Intelligence
- Digital Forensics
- The successful candidate will combine academic leadership, research excellence, and a passion for student-centred education to ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning, and programme quality.
Academic Leadership
- Lead and manage one or more Computing programmes
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to academic staff
- Drive programme development, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Support strategic growth initiatives within the department
Teaching & Quality Assurance
- Oversee curriculum design, delivery, and enhancement
- Maintain high standards of teaching, assessment, and academic integrity
- Ensure compliance with LSBU academic regulations and quality frameworks
- Support accreditation, validation, and regulatory requirements
Student Success
- Monitor student engagement, progression, retention, and achievement
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support employability, industry engagement, and student development initiatives
Research & Scholarly Activity
- Maintain an active research profile
- Publish in high-quality journals and conferences
- Support research culture, collaboration, and knowledge exchange activities
- Build relationships with industry and professional bodies
Essential Requirements
- We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate:
- PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, or a related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of higher education teaching experience
- Minimum 2 years of programme leadership, course leadership, or academic management experience
- Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment, and quality assurance
- Evidence of research activity through publications, conference presentations, grants, or scholarly outputs
- Experience leading and developing academic teams
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Commitment to academic excellence and student success
Desirable
- Experience within UK Higher Education
- Experience with transnational education (TNE)
- Knowledge of UAE CAA and Ministry of Education requirements
- Experience working within international higher education environments
