Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Counselor role based in Doha, Qatar.

The Counselor will meet with students and families to assess academic backgrounds, interests, and goals, and provide tailored guidance on university admissions, career options, and study abroad pathways.

Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, organizing and delivering information sessions or workshops, and supporting students with application forms, documentation, and scholarship opportunities.

The role involves maintaining accurate student records, following up on progress, and coordinating closely with colleagues to ensure a seamless advisory experience.

The Counselor will also stay updated on international and local education systems, admission requirements, and scholarship trends to provide current, reliable information.

Qualifications

  • Strong student advising and counseling skills, including the ability to listen actively, build trust, and provide clear, practical guidance.
  • Knowledge of university admissions processes, study abroad options, and scholarship or financial aid pathways.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to students and families.
  • Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple cases, deadlines, and documentation accurately.
  • Comfort using computers and online platforms for research, applications, record-keeping, and virtual communication.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field; relevant
  • Prior experience in academic counseling, student services, or educational consultancy is strongly preferred.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with students and families from diverse backgrounds; proficiency in English is required, and additional language skills are a plus.
