Role Description
The Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Specialist is a full-time, remote role responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs for client organizations.
The specialist monitors workplace conditions, conducts regular risk assessments, and ensures compliance with applicable safety regulations, standards, and company policies.
Daily activities include preparing and updating EHS documentation, coordinating incident investigations, and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
The role also involves designing and delivering safety training, promoting a culture of safety, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across diverse work environments.
The EHS Specialist will collaborate closely with HR Gate consultants, client leadership, and operational teams to provide practical, data-driven safety guidance and support.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Health & Safety to design and maintain comprehensive safety programs.
- Experience in Occupational Health and Workplace Safety to assess risks, implement controls, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective Safety Training, including toolbox talks, onboarding sessions, and refresher courses.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., OSHA or equivalent local regulations).
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience in incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills, with proficiency in standard office and collaboration tools.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence safe behaviors in remote and onsite teams.
- Professional safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, or regional equivalents) are preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple client priorities, and adapt to diverse industries and work environments.
