Role overview

Kitchen duties

• Receive food ingredients and supplies from the main kitchen and pantry for daily operations.
• Review production schedules and gather food, supplies, and equipment for daily cooking.
• Prepare and display vegetables, fruits, meats, soups, salads, simple pastries and breads, and cereals using prescribed recipes and varied cooking methods; test food quality.
• Complete production sheets and other records; maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Cater special events and prepare special diets according to prescribed standards.
• Address equipment and supply issues; identify spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies or equipment, and unusual conditions.
• Record inventory and/or order stock.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5–7 years of experience working as a cook required.
• Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
• Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Ability to prepare and bake a variety of pastries, rolls, or other baked goods.
• Cooking skills; knowledge of food preparation, presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
• Organizing and coordinating skills; ability to receive goods and supplies and knowledge of ordering and inventory control.

Workplace and schedule

• Remote type is onsite; work location is 81 Highland Avenue.
• Scheduled 40 hours per week on a rotating shift.

Pay

• Hourly pay range is $17.71–$25.28.
