Role details

Cooking and kitchen duties

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, storing, washing, peeling, measuring, and mixing.
• Prepare and cook food, including cold foods, following recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers; test food to ensure it is sufficiently cooked.
• Monitor food quality and portion food into appropriate containers.
• Set up and clean work areas, kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment; sanitise as required.
• Maintain appropriate food and equipment temperatures.

Safety and teamwork

• Follow company and safety/security policies and report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to a manager.
• Complete safety training and certifications; maintain a clean, professional uniform and grooming.
• Protect confidential information and company assets; communicate professionally and build positive working relationships.
• Support team goals, respond appropriately to colleagues' concerns, and uphold quality expectations.
• Perform other reasonable duties as directed by a supervisor.

Preferred qualifications and experience

• At least one year of related work experience.
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is listed as a preferred qualification.
• No supervisory experience or license/certification is specified.
• Physical duties include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods; bending, reaching, twisting, crouching, and moving objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
