Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Asian Cook / Chef to join our catering team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Asian cuisine and will be responsible for preparing a variety of traditional Asian dishes. The Asian Cook will work closely with the catering team to ensure the timely preparation and presentation of high-quality, flavorful meals that reflect authentic Asian culinary traditions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the planning, preparation and presentation of a wide range of traditional Asian dishes to the required standards of quality, in line with client and company requirements while attaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Collaborate with the catering manager or clients to develop customized Asian menus based on event themes, dietary preferences, and customer needs.
- Prepare food in large quantities, taking into account proper storage and transportation requirements for catering events.
- Ensure all food preparation areas are clean, sanitized, and well-organized before, during, and after the activities.
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations (e.g., proper food storage, handling, and cooking techniques).
- Maintain an inventory of catering equipment and ensure all necessary tools are available for food preparation and service.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff or assistants, ensuring they follow proper cooking procedures and safety protocols.
- Prepare menus and use standardized recipes
- Oversee proper handling, packaging and storage of foodstuff and ensure the stock rotation procedures are maintained.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Must have minimum 05 years of experience in catering companies / hotels / restaurant
- Should be able to communicate in English with computer literacy
- Knowledge of Stock Control and Management
- Knowledge of Food Safety, Hygiene and HACCP guidelines
- Customer-focused with the ability to address client requests and feedback in a positive, professional manner.
