Position overview
Lead financial operations for Edmonton Granite Memorials and affiliated companies, reporting directly to the President.
This hands-on leadership role covers reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and general ledger management.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and manage reporting and intercompany transactions for affiliated corporations.
- Develop budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial projections; analyze performance, expenses, costing, and profitability.
- Monitor banking, financing obligations, and loan covenants; oversee inventory and manufacturing-related financial reporting.
- Coordinate tax filings, year-end reviews, and regulatory compliance with external accountants.
- Improve processes, controls, and operational efficiency; advise the President on financial strategy.
Required qualifications
- At least 7 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, including Controller or comparable senior accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Sage 50 is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, corporate taxation, and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing financial statements, budgets, and cash flow forecasts; advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality.
Preferred qualifications
- CPA designation is preferred.
- Manufacturing, inventory accounting, cost accounting, or multi-entity experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with CERIDIAN payroll systems, accounting software integrations, and process improvements is preferred.
Pay and benefits
- Pay is $110,000–$130,000 per year.
