About This Role
Overview
The Contracts Officer will support the contracts and commercial function of the Group with a primary focus on vessel chartering and ship management activities.
The role will assist in the preparation, review, administration, and monitoring of marine-related contracts while coordinating with operations, commercial, and management teams.
1. Contracts Administration & Commercial Support
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining contracts related to:
- Vessel chartering agreements (including BIMCO standard forms)
- Ship management agreements
- Service agreements and subcontractor agreements
- NDAs, MOUs, and commercial correspondence
- Support the commercial and operations teams in contract administration and documentation.
- Maintain proper records of contracts, amendments, renewals, and supporting documents.
- Monitor contract validity, expiry dates, obligations, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in preparing commercial proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, brokers, and subcontractors regarding contractual documentation.
- Support in resolving basic contractual and commercial issues in coordination with management.
- Ensure contractual documentation complies with company procedures and operational requirements.
- Liaise with finance and operations teams regarding invoicing, variations, and supporting commercial documents.
- Assist in reviewing and administering BIMCO charter party agreements and related marine contractual documentation.
2. Operational & Administrative Support
Assist management with contract-related reporting and document tracking.
Coordinate with internal departments to collect supporting documentation for tenders and projects.
Support management during audits and document reviews when required.
Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for contracts and commercial records.
Prepare meeting minutes, follow-up actions, and contractual correspondence as required.
3. Business Support
Provide administrative and commercial support for new business opportunities and client requirements.
Assist in reviewing tender documents and identifying key commercial requirements.
Support management with day-to-day commercial coordination and follow-up activities.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience in the marine or offshore industry.
Some experience or exposure to marine contracts, chartering contracts, and BIMCO agreements.
Basic understanding of vessel operations, chartering, or ship management activities is preferred.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and document management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, Law, Commerce, or related field.
Previous experience supporting commercial, operations, or contracts departments within the marine industry is an advantage.
