The Senior Contracts Engineer supports contractual and commercial management of construction projects in Abu Dhabi.
The role administers contracts, manages claims and variations, prepares contractual correspondence, and maintains effective contractual controls throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Administer main contracts and subcontracts and ensure compliance with their terms and conditions.
- Prepare and manage variations, claims, extensions of time, and contractual notices.
- Draft and issue timely, accurate contractual correspondence and formal notices.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date contractual registers and records.
- Review subcontractor claims, payment applications, deductions, and back charges.
- Identify contractual risks and recommend commercial mitigation solutions.
- Ensure contractual compliance and documentation follow company procedures and UAE regulatory requirements.
- Support contract close-out, final accounts, and handover.
- Coordinate with project management, commercial, and site teams on contractual matters affecting project delivery.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of construction contract-administration experience.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and experience with claims, variations, extensions of time, and contractual correspondence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- UAE construction experience is preferred.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, claims, and variation management.
- Sound understanding of extensions of time and delay management principles.
- Strong subcontract management and contractual correspondence skills.
- Commercial acumen to identify and mitigate contractual risk.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
