Overview

Our client is one of the world's largest and most recognised international construction and infrastructure groups, delivering some of the Middle East's most complex transportation, water, tunneling, highways, rail, and civil engineering projects.

As part of continued growth across its Middle East operations, the business is seeking to appoint a Contract Manager to join its regional Contract Management and Legal function based in the UAE.

This appointment offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious contract management professional looking to transition into, or further develop within, a dedicated contract management function supporting major international infrastructure projects.

Working alongside an experienced regional leadership team, you will play a key role in protecting contractual entitlement, managing commercial risk, supporting project delivery teams, and contributing to the successful delivery of landmark civil engineering projects across the region.

Job Description

Reporting directly into the Middle East Contract Management and Legal leadership team, the Contract Manager will provide contractual and commercial support across multiple major infrastructure projects throughout the UAE and wider Middle East.

The role offers exposure across the full project lifecycle, supporting both project delivery and senior management on contractual strategy, claims, risk management, dispute avoidance, and contract administration.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking long-term career development within an internationally recognised contractor operating on some of the region's largest projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide contract management support across major civil infrastructure projects
  • Advise project teams on contractual obligations, entitlement, risk, and compliance
  • Support the administration and management of main contracts and subcontract agreements
  • Prepare and manage contractual correspondence, notices, and submissions
  • Assist with the preparation, assessment, and negotiation of Variation Orders and contractual changes
  • Support the preparation and management of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and associated contractual entitlement
  • Assist in the preparation and management of contractual claims and dispute-related matters
  • Participate in contract drafting, negotiation, and contractual risk reviews
  • Support dispute avoidance strategies and assist with dispute board and arbitration preparation where required
  • Work closely with commercial, engineering, planning, and legal teams to ensure contractual compliance throughout project delivery

Profile Required

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related construction discipline
  • Approximately 7–15 years' experience within contract management, quantity surveying, commercial management, or construction contracts
  • Experience working on major civil infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, tunnels, rail, water, or complex building projects
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, contract administration, contractual correspondence, and commercial risk management
  • Experience supporting claims, Extension of Time submissions, Variation Orders, and contractual negotiations
  • Exposure to dispute resolution, claims management, or arbitration support would be advantageous
  • Stable employment history demonstrating progressive career development
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Previous Middle East experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Experience working within international construction environments would be highly beneficial

Highly Desirable Experience

  • FIDIC contract experience
  • Experience supporting major international contractors or EPC organisations
  • Exposure to complex claims and dispute management processes
  • Experience working alongside legal and contract management teams
  • Ability to operate across multicultural, international project environments

What Sets This Opportunity Apart

  • Opportunity to join one of the world's leading international construction groups
  • Exposure to landmark infrastructure projects across the UAE and wider Middle East
  • Work directly alongside an experienced regional Contract Management and Legal leadership team
  • Excellent platform for developing a long-term career in international Contract Management
  • Exposure to high-value claims, contractual negotiations, dispute resolution, and commercial strategy
  • Permanent appointment with genuine long-term career progression opportunities

Interview Process

The interview process will consist of three stages, with the successful candidate expected to join the business as soon as reasonably possible.
