Kitchen responsibilities
- Prepare daily mise en place and food production across main kitchen or satellite sections.
- Coordinate daily tasks with the Sous Chef or Executive Chef and follow their instructions.
- Maintain high standards and consistent quality in daily food preparation.
- Keep up to date with products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
- Instruct and lead subordinates in daily food preparation.
- Participate in setting up and supervising buffets and special functions.
- Coordinate with other sections on requirements, cleanliness, wastage, and cost control.
- Check daily requirements, functions, and last-minute events.
- Guide and train subordinates to support motivation and economical working practices.
Qualifications and competencies
- Professional kitchen apprenticeship or a chefs training course and previous experience in quality establishments.
- Good culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and preservation are essential.
- Ability to communicate well in English.
