Consulting Project Adviser

Role overview

Responsibilities and time commitment

• Advise three to four student teams working with real clients on consulting projects.
• Allow students to lead projects and client relationships while providing advice, encouragement, and support.
• Commit approximately 12 hours per week for 16 weeks, excluding Spring Break.
• Attend weekly 75-minute in-person class meetings, an all-adviser meeting, and occasional additional team or faculty meetings.

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. or master’s degree in information systems, computer science, business, or a closely related field is required.
• A solid background in Information Systems consulting or project management is sought.
• The ideal adviser has deep experience advising, managing, directing, and overseeing software development projects.
• Additional skills in topics related to Information Systems core courses and concentrations are desirable.

Position term

• Temporary, part-time, one-semester appointment; no extension is expected.
• The position offers competitive pay; no compensation amount or cadence is stated.
