As a Consultant Ophthalmologist, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex ophthalmic conditions.
You will also participate in multidisciplinary collaborations, teaching, and research initiatives aimed at advancing the field of ophthalmology.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert ophthalmic consultations and manage patients with complex eye diseases.
- Conduct advanced ophthalmic surgeries and interventions with a focus on quality and safety.
- Lead and participate in teaching programs for medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Engage in clinical research and contribute to academic publications to support innovation in ophthalmology.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care and optimal outcomes.
- Supervise junior medical staff and support their professional development.
- Stay abreast of advances in ophthalmology and incorporate evidence-based practices into clinical care.
- Contribute to the development of departmental protocols and standards of care.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in managing complex ophthalmic cases and performing advanced surgical procedures.
- Strong academic background with a commitment to teaching and research.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence
- Experience within a university healthcare or academic medical center is highly preferred.
