Stafmed is partnering with a leading healthcare institution in Abu Dhabi to recruit a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Neonatologist . Key Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION
Clinical Excellence:
Lead and supervise the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based neonatal care, effectively diagnosing and managing premature and critically ill newborns within the scope of neonatology.
Patient Care:
Conduct comprehensive neonatal assessments, interpret diagnostic investigations, prescribe appropriate treatments, and develop individualized care plans. Manage NICU patients, lead ward rounds, and provide consultations for high-risk deliveries.
Supervision and Training:
Oversee the clinical activities of junior medical staff, including specialists, residents, and nurses, while actively contributing to their education, mentorship, and professional development.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, anesthetists, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic neonatal care.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with hospital policies, DOH regulations, and international patient safety and infection control standards.
Quality Improvement:
Engage in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and support continuous service development.
Communication:
Communicate effectively and compassionately with families, ensuring informed decision-making and delivering sensitive information with professionalism and empathy.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
- MBBS or equivalent from a recognized medical school.
- Completion of specialty training in Pediatrics and Neonatology.
- Western qualifications preferred, such as CCT, CCST, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, Australian Fellowship, or equivalent Tier 1/Tier 2 credentials.
- Fellowship or Board Certification in Neonatology is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3β7 years of post-specialty experience as a Consultant Neonatologist in a recognized tertiary or multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
- Proven expertise in managing Level III/IV NICU cases and high-risk neonatal emergencies.
Skills:
- Strong clinical judgment and neonatal resuscitation expertise.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous medical education (CME/CPD), research, and evidence-based practice.
Language:
- Fluency in English is required.
- Arabic or additional languages are considered an advantage.
