About This Role
Overview
- Candidates applying to the job should have the experience and set of skills for managing critically ill adult and pediatric patients undergoing major cardiac and thoracic surgery procedures.
- In addition, candidates are expected to have at least 5 years experience as consultant cardiothoracic anaesthesiologist in a busy specialist or tertiary hospital to manage the complex nature of the procedures and patient mix including but not limited to:
- Pediatric and congenital heart disease surgery
- Adult Cardiac surgery (e.g. high-risk redo surgery, surgery for thoracic aorta)
• Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs)
- Robotic cardiac surgery (valve replacement/repair, VADs placement and heart transplant)
- Heart, lung, and combined heart lung transplantation
- Interventional cardiology procedures (TAVR, MitraClip, Triclip, etc)
- Diagnostic and interventional pediatric cardiology procedures (heart defect device-closure, PPVI, Fontan fenestration closure)
- Electrophysiology and cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIED)
- Intra-operative echocardiography: TEE certificate/experience is an essential requirement.
