Delivers technically complex, regulated projects from concept through handover as part of the wider EKIUM Group.

About the role

Run construction projects and coordinate project and site teams to deliver safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality.

The role requires a visible site presence and frequent travel to construction sites across the UK, mostly in southern England. The primary office base is Godalming.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage construction programmes, logistics, project controls, costs, change, contracts, contractors, suppliers, and project escalations.
  • Coordinate with PMO, design, engineering, and commissioning teams; ensure compliance with CDM 2015, Building Regulations, health and safety, and quality procedures.
  • Manage risk assessments, method statements, inspections, testing, snagging, and handover documentation.
  • Build client relationships; participate in project reviews, tenders, and business development; support resource planning across concurrent projects.
  • Mentor team members, drive continuous improvement, build supply-chain relationships, and deputize for the Head of Construction when needed.

About you

  • Significant Construction Project Manager experience, ideally in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or another highly regulated design-and-build environment.
  • Experience delivering projects from smaller works to capital projects of around £25m.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, M&E interfaces, sequencing, logistics, temporary works, and project programme, cost, quality, risk, change, and commercial management.
  • Good working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts, CDM 2015, and Building Regulations 2010; strong health and safety leadership.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage contractors, build client relationships, and manage multiple projects; strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications and tools

  • Degree in Construction Management, Building, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • APM PMQ, PRINCE2, or PMP is strongly preferred; relevant membership such as MCIOB, MRICS, MAPM, or CEng, or equivalent experience.
  • Current SMSTS and relevant CSCS card required; NEBOSH Construction Certificate desirable.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and a planning tool such as MS Project or Asta Powerproject.
