Key Responsibilities

• Get hands-on with materials testing - helping to prepare and test samples in the laboratory and on construction sites, following recognised testing methods.
• Learn how specialist testing equipment is used - carrying out basic equipment checks and learning how to make sure equipment is ready and suitable for testing.
• Prepare and manage samples – helping to receive, label, store and prepare different materials ready for testing.
• Record and understand test results - completing worksheets and electronic records accurately and learning why good record keeping is so important.
• Build your knowledge of quality and compliance - learning how testing procedures and quality standards help ensure results are accurate and reliable.
• Experience both lab and site-based work - giving you exposure to different working environments and the opportunity to develop a broad range of practical skills.
• Learn from experienced technicians - working as part of the team and gradually building the confidence and technical knowledge to carry out more testing independently.
