We are seeking a highly accomplished and results-driven Construction Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of major capital projects within the gold mining and mineral resources sector, primarily in remote and logistically challenging environments.

Preference will be given to candidates with a strong track record of delivering complex projects across the Middle East, where regulatory awareness, cultural adaptability, and regional execution experience are critical to success.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to manage large-scale construction programs exceeding USD 100 million in total installed cost (TIC), taking full ownership from mobilisation and early site establishment through to mechanical completion, commissioning interface, and final handover.

This role requires leadership over large, multidisciplinary teams operating across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation (CSMPE&I) disciplines, often under demanding environmental and operational conditions.

This position calls for a leader who blends deep technical construction expertise with strong commercial awareness and strategic execution capability.

The Construction Manager will act as the single point of accountability for all on-site construction activities and will be responsible for setting the benchmark for safety culture, execution excellence, productivity, and workforce discipline.

A key aspect of this role is the ability to manage and interface effectively with international contractors, particularly Chinese EPC contractors.

The Construction Manager will assume full accountability for the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of all site construction activities.

This includes managing execution across all technical disciplines from initial mobilisation through to mechanical completion and handover.

You will develop, own, and continuously refine the Construction Execution Plan (CEP), ensuring alignment with the overall project schedule and strategic objectives.

A strong emphasis will be placed on proactive planning, including look-ahead scheduling, critical path analysis, and early identification of risks and constraints.

You will lead construction progress reviews, enforce schedule discipline, and implement recovery strategies where required.

Close coordination with engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams will be essential to ensure seamless execution and readiness for system handover.

This role requires active engagement with engineering teams to ensure that all Approved for Construction (AFC) documentation is delivered in line with construction requirements.

You will drive constructability reviews during the design phase, ensuring optimal buildability and minimizing rework.

You will oversee the management of RFIs, Technical Queries, and Engineering Change Notices, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to site activities.

Additionally, you will ensure that all method statements, ITPs, and work packs are properly developed, approved, and implemented across all contractors.

A strong focus will be placed on mechanical completion processes, including punch-list management, certification, and system handover documentation.

You will lead the performance management of all contractors on site, ensuring alignment with project objectives, safety standards, and quality expectations.

This includes managing multiple contractors working concurrently and resolving interface challenges efficiently.

You will chair coordination meetings, review contractor performance, manage claims and variations, and maintain comprehensive documentation to support commercial decisions.

Particular emphasis will be placed on managing Chinese EPC contractors, requiring cultural intelligence, structured communication, and firm but fair leadership to align delivery standards and expectations.

Safety is a non-negotiable priority for this role.

You will be expected to lead by example, maintaining a visible presence on site and actively engaging in safety initiatives.

You will oversee all HSE systems, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance metrics such as TRIFR and LTIFR.

Incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation will fall under your responsibility, along with maintaining strong engagement with regulatory authorities and client HSE representatives.

You will be responsible for mobilising and managing a large, diverse workforce in remote locations.

This includes planning manpower requirements, overseeing onboarding processes, and ensuring workforce welfare standards are maintained.

Strong leadership will be required to manage multicultural teams, enforce discipline, and maintain productivity.

You will also oversee workforce accommodation, logistics, medical support, and overall well-being in remote camp environments.

You will oversee all logistics operations, including material delivery, storage, and distribution.

This includes managing warehouse operations, inventory control, and coordination of heavy lift activities.

You will also ensure that all site infrastructure and temporary services are effectively established and maintained, supporting uninterrupted construction progress.

You will be responsible for maintaining all key execution plans and ensuring that reporting systems are accurate, timely, and aligned with project control requirements.

This includes maintaining site records, supporting earned value analysis, and contributing to cost forecasting and risk management processes.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline, along with a minimum of 15 years of relevant construction management experience.

At least 5 years should be in a senior leadership role on large-scale capital projects.

Demonstrated experience delivering projects exceeding USD 100 million in remote or greenfield environments is essential.

Familiarity with EPC/EPCM delivery models, contract frameworks such as FIDIC or NEC, and tools like Primavera P6 is required.

Additional qualifications in project management or business administration will be considered advantageous.

Membership in professional bodies and experience with commissioning and start-up phases will also be beneficial.

Exposure to renewable-integrated power systems, community engagement programs, and owner-side project representation will further strengthen a candidate’s profile.
