Construction Accountant

About This Role

BTL-TV is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accountant to join our finance team in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing construction-related financial operations, tracking project costs, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining strong financial control across ongoing projects.

This role is best suited for a finance professional with strong expertise in project-based accounting and a solid understanding of construction industry financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage project budgets, costs, and financial performance across construction projects
• Track and record project expenditures, commitments, and cost allocations accurately
• Prepare project financial reports, cost analysis, and variance reports
• Ensure proper accounting of subcontractor invoices, supplier payments, and progress billings
• Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and site teams for cost control and approvals
• Maintain accurate project accounting records in the ERP system
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities related to construction projects
• Reconcile project accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Assist in cash flow forecasting and project financial planning
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and audit requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in construction accounting or project-based finance
• Strong knowledge of construction cost control and project accounting principles
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple ongoing projects
• Experience in construction, contracting, or engineering industries is highly preferred
