Role overview
Compliance Analyst in DVA's AML/CFT operation in Dubai, working directly with the CO/MLRO.
The role investigates suspicious transactions, follows activity on-chain, and prepares defensible cases for VARA and the UAE FIU.
Responsibilities
- Review onboarding and KYC/KYB files, including enhanced due diligence for high-risk customers, PEPs, and complex corporate structures.
- Investigate monitoring and blockchain analytics alerts, trace funds on-chain, and escalate suspicious activity to the MLRO.
- Draft STRs/SARs for MLRO filing with the UAE FIU through goAML.
- Screen against UAE and UN sanctions lists, including the UAE Local Terrorist List, and support targeted financial sanctions.
- Perform VARA Travel Rule checks, assess counterparty VASPs, and monitor transfers structured to avoid thresholds.
- Test the compliance monitoring plan and track findings to closure.
- Keep AML/CFT policies, procedures, and registers updated and audit-ready; support VARA inspections, regulatory reporting, and authority requests.
What you'll need
- CAMS certification from ACAMS.
- 2–4 years in AML/CFT or financial crime compliance, ideally at a VASP, exchange, payments firm, or bank.
- UAE work experience and working knowledge of UAE federal AML/CFT law, goAML, and VARA AML/CFT and Travel Rule requirements.
- Hands-on blockchain analytics tool experience, such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, or TRM Labs.
- Investigative mindset and clear, concise writing for defensible case documentation.
- UAE residency or ability to relocate to Dubai; fluency in English.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting a VARA inspection or licence application is a plus.
- Knowledge of ADGM FSRA, MiCA, or FATF virtual asset guidance is a plus.
- Arabic language skills are a plus.
