About The Role

  • The Compensation & Benefits Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the company's compensation, payroll, benefits, personal income tax, social insurance, and total rewards programs to ensure:
  • Attraction and retention of top talent.
  • Market competitiveness.
  • Full compliance with Vietnamese laws and regulations.
  • Effective support for both local employees and expatriates.
  • Provision of data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to Management.

1. Compensation Strategy & Salary Structure

  • Design and manage salary structures, salary bands, job grading, and annual salary review processes.
  • Conduct compensation benchmarking against relevant market data.
  • Propose short-term and long-term incentive programs, including bonus and retention schemes.
  • Advise Management on compensation structures and internal equity.

2. Payroll & Tax Administration

  • Oversee monthly payroll processing, including salaries, bonuses, allowances, overtime, and deductions.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and declaration of Personal Income Tax (PIT), Social Insurance (SI), Health Insurance (HI), and Unemployment Insurance (UI).
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and with strict confidentiality.
  • Coordinate with the Finance team to reconcile payroll and personnel costs.

3. Benefits Management

  • Design and administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, annual health checks, meal allowances, and other welfare programs.
  • Evaluate cost-effectiveness and market competitiveness of benefits programs.
  • Liaise with insurance providers and other benefit vendors.

4. Expatriate Compensation & Mobility

  • Manage compensation and benefits programs for expatriate employees.
  • Advise and administer matters related to Work Permits, Temporary Residence Cards, and expatriate PIT obligations.
  • Manage relocation, housing, schooling, and other expatriate allowances.
  • Ensure compliance with labor, tax, and foreign exchange regulations.

5. Compliance & Legal Advisory

  • Monitor and update regulations related to labor law, social insurance, personal income tax, foreign employee regulations, and foreign exchange control.
  • Assess legal risks and recommend compliant solutions.
  • Prepare documentation and liaise with government authorities during audits and inspections.

6. HR Systems & Automation

  • Manage and optimize HRIS systems, especially MISA AMIS HRM.
  • Automate payroll, leave, benefits, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure HR data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.

7. Budgeting & Analytics

  • Prepare annual personnel cost budgets.
  • Analyze headcount costs, salary costs, and benefit costs.
  • Develop dashboards and management reports.
  • Recommend cost optimization initiatives while maintaining competitiveness.

8. Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Clearly communicate and explain compensation and benefits policies to employees and Management.
  • Handle sensitive compensation matters with sound judgment and strong persuasion skills.
  • Communicate effectively in English with expatriates and senior leadership.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Compensation & Benefits.
  • At least 2 years of management experience.
  • Mandatory experience working with expatriates and international compensation matters.
  • Experience dealing with tax authorities, social insurance agencies, and labor inspectors.
  • Experience in manufacturing, technology, or high-growth startup environments is preferred.

Technical Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of Vietnamese Labor Law, Social Insurance Law, Personal Income Tax regulations, foreign labor regulations, and foreign exchange regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets.
  • Hands-on experience with MISA AMIS HRM or equivalent HRIS systems.

Language Skills

  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken.

  • Experience in HR digital transformation projects.
