We are looking for a talented **Commis Chef** to join our kitchen team and help us elevate our pastry and food offerings.
Job Summary
As a Commis Chef at Ciel Cafe, you’ll assist in the preparation of both savory and pastry dishes under the guidance of our chefs.
You’ll learn valuable kitchen skills, support daily food service, and help maintain the high standards our guests expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of breakfast, lunch, and pastry items according to recipes and standards
- Support kitchen sections, including salads, sandwiches, wraps, one-bowl meals, and baked goods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your station and assist with general kitchen cleanliness.
- Follow proper food handling, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
- Prepare ingredients — washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, and portioning items.
- Help with plating and assembling dishes for service.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries properly.
- Work efficiently to support service during busy periods.
- Follow directions from the Demi Chef de Partie, Chef de Partie, and Head Chef.
- Take part in kitchen opening and closing procedures as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or café experience is a plus but not required — we’re happy to train motivated individuals.
- Passion for food, pastries, and learning new techniques.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Positive, hardworking, and team-oriented attitude.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food safety standards.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Culinary school training or certification is mandatory.
- Professional kitchen experience will be a plus point.
- Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
