Role overview

Responsibilities

• Wash and peel ingredients for production and prepare mise en place to kitchen standards.
• Set up and replenish buffets; collect requisitions and organize supplies in storage.
• Monitor stock levels, report low ingredients, and store and label ingredients appropriately.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, utensils, tools, and work areas before and after use.
• Report kitchen cleanliness and maintenance issues and support daily checks.
• Follow personal hygiene, food safety, hotel service standards, and UAE municipality regulations.
• Support colleagues and other outlets or banquets when requested; attend required meetings and training.

Requirements

• High school qualification or equivalent.
• Basic food handling and preparation experience, including specialty dishes such as pizza, is required.
• Ability to work long hours and move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 15 kg without assistance.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen tools and utensils is required.

Preferred qualifications

• A degree or Higher National Diploma in hospitality or culinary arts is preferred.
• At least one year of experience as a Commis 1 in a pastry and bakery kitchen is preferred.
• Basic food hygiene knowledge is preferred.
