Position summary

Kitchen duties

• Prepare special meals or substitute items, cold foods, and other dishes according to recipes and preparation checklists.
• Control cooking equipment temperatures and thaw frozen food appropriately.
• Portion, arrange, and garnish food to required standards.
• Maintain food logs and monitor prepared food quality and quantity.
• Communicate support needs during busy periods and report excess items for daily specials.
• Tell service staff about menu specials and unavailable items.

Team and workplace duties

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Follow company and safety and security procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete safety training.
• Address guest service needs and work constructively with colleagues toward shared goals.
• Maintain professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and meet quality expectations.
• Perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Preferred qualifications and physical duties

• A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
• At least three years of related work experience is preferred.
• No supervisory experience is specified as necessary.
• Duties require extended standing, sitting, or walking; reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping; and moving objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Workplace

• The role is not remote and is based at the JW Marriott location on Sheikh Zayed Road, Business Bay, Dubai.
